Dr. Michael Markou, DO, FACOFP, FISHRS is the founder and medical director at Tampa Bay Hair Restoration. He is a licensed and board-certified Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) who specializes in cellular regenerative medicine, hair transplant surgery, and family medicine. He provides medical hair loss management for both men and women located all throughout the United States. He has been a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) since 1994, and currently serves as chairman for the Ambassadors for Patient Safety Subcommittee. He also received a fellowship award from the ISHRS in 2022, a recognition given to the top hair transplant surgeons who strive for excellence in their field and never stop learning with continued education. 

Dr. Markou is also a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), Executive Committee and Board of Trustees Member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA), Florida Delegate of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Member of the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society (PCOMS), Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), and more! He has become one of the leading hair transplant doctors in Tampa Bay due to his dedicated research and commitment to excellence. He took part in Merck Pharmaceutical Studies on the only FDA-approved hair loss medication, Propecia. He also published the first research article on low-level laser hair restoration, and was the first hair transplant doctor in Florida to utilize regenerative medicine as a treatment for hair loss.
